Your Views Wanted – Changing Primary Care Networks

Posted by: lesmiller -

Over the past year many patients have informed us of their difficulties in accessing services at the Oxford Centre due to poor transport links in our community. With this in mind, the Partners at Woodlands have actively entered discussions with Cramlington and Seaton Valley Primary Care Network to move our hub-based service to The Village Surgery, situated near Manor Walks Shopping Centre, which has direct bus access right to the door from our catchment area.

What this means in practice is our patients will have access to evening and weekend appointments from a range of healthcare professionals from GPs to mental health practitioners, paramedics, pharmacy technicians and social prescribing link workers to name a few.

From a practice perspective this change would mean Dr McCubbin, Picton and Mr Miller will be working proactively with Forum Family Practice, The Village Surgery and Netherfield House Surgery to develop healthcare services for our community, Cramlington and Seghill.

As ever, it is our ambition to bring services closer to our patients and community and we will continue to develop as many services on-site as possible, but we aim to ensure that any hub-based service is accessible to all.

In doing so we would like to engage your views on this change. Please follow the link below to give feedback on our proposal:
