Non-urgent advice: Named Accountable GP (Usual GP)

When you register at Woodlands Park Health Centre, you are given a Usual GP (Named Accountable GP). This role is largely one of oversight. This doctor is responsible for your overall care at the Practice. Your Usual GP will be either Dr McCubbin, Dr Nixon, Dr Sayles or Dr Ibrahim.

You can make an appointment with, or be treated by, any doctor or nurse at the Practice, not only your Usual GP. This is because you are registered with the Practice as a whole, not with just one doctor. If you have a preference as to which clinician you would like to see, please inform our receptionists when you are booking an appointment.

For urgent (same-day) problems, we use an emergency triage system. This means that if it is suitable, we will put you on our call-back list. A doctor or an Advanced Nurse Practitioner will then phone you the same day. If you need to be seen in person, the clinician will arrange an appointment for you when they call. Please note, this might not be your Usual GP or preferred clinician as it depends on who is on duty that day.

If you want to know who your Usual GP is, please ask at reception. If you would like to change your Usual GP, please write to the Business Support Officer, Jack Pounder. We can only make changes if there is space on the doctor’s list, this is to keep an even number of patients between doctors.
